Manager Technical Strategy in Worldwide Operations
Thursday, April 26, 2001, Time: 8AM Breakfast, Program 8:30AM - 10:30
Location: Holland & Knight LLP 195 Broadway, NYC
Welcome to the launch of the CTO Council for NYSIA. Our goal is to create
a forum for the discussion and sharing that issues that matter to CTOs.
The coverage will be broad - leveraging the presence of big business and
the technical power houses in the tri-state area.
Our first meeting provides a unique opportunity to hear IBM's Global
Technology Outlook, delivered by Dr. Wlodek W. Zadrozny, Manager Technical
Strategy in Worldwide Operations at IBM Research. The session will be
chaired by Dr. Ram Chillarege, Executive VP Software & Technology, Opus360
Corporation.
The Global Technology Outlook (GTO ) presents the IBM Research Division's
vision of the future for information technology. It includes forecasts
of base technology trends and how they enable new uses and capabilities
for information technology. IBM uses the GTO for strategy development
and shares it with select customers and industry partners. The Research
Division management uses it to spot disruptions in our current areas of
business and identification of "whitespace" opportunities typically not
covered by existing execution strategies.
