| An Area Chair is an appointment
by the Steering Committee with a tenure of three years. This brings
consistency into the meetings and provides a process of mentoring
a new individual to this role. The Area Chair can build a small
team or committee by discussion with the General and Program Chair.
They are responsible for the functioning of that area of the conference.
