First Presentation:
International Symposium on Software Reliability Engineering,
2002, Washington DC.
Ram Chillarege
Concept: The talk discusses two competing forces in the
business of building high reliabilty applications over the
past few years. The pressures of speed to market often sacrificed
reliabilty. At the same time the high ramp rate of customers
to an application (given that web applications can be easily
deployed) places an unusual burden on reliabilty growth.
The ways these balance, and the reasons for success and failure
are discussed.
Audience: Technical & Management
Length: 20 minutes - 2 hour discussion
Takeaway: Design point changes and implications on testing
